Web Development Most of the websites I work on are MySql database driven and are programmed using either PHP or Ruby On Rails. I've also added functionality and features to many existing websites.
AsylumStories.co.uk/ProtestThis website has been created to explain the protest which (another) Ben and I are doing to end the destitution of refused Asylum Seekers in Britain. It was created using WordPress and pre-built theme and contains several pages, a blog and the ability to subscibe to the blog by email.
ACCAStockport.org.ukThis website was built using WordPress and is based on a pre-built theme which i have changed to suit the clients needs. It enables ACCA Stockport staff to update their new and events easily, and to create new pages. I also set-up a Flickr account so they can share their photo's, and a FaceBook group so they can raise awareness of their activities.
JamaicaSocietyManchester.org.ukThe Jamaica Society in Manchester wanted a website to communicate their purpose and activities to a wider audience, particularly young people. The website was created using WordPress and a pre-built theme. Society volunteers can update the news, events and page content through the password protected administration area.
ChangeMakersBlog.WordPress.comChangeMakers needed a quick online presence, so I set-up a free blog on WordPress.com. I chose the theme and edited the sidebar to display the ChangeMakers logo. The aim is to export all the content to a dedicated website which can be desinged as they like.
AsylumStories.co.ukThis is a personal project of mine and was built using WordPress and a pre-built theme. I created the header images to randomly rotate and added the ability to subscribe to the stories by email. AsylumStories.co.uk will shortly have a Video Podcast of Asylum Seekers telling their own stories.
ChurchMCR.comThis Social Network allows users to login and create news, events, conversations, mark maps and much more. RSS feeds are built in for news and events, and there are 2 Podcasts based on this website. This web application was created within 3 months and I am continuing to develop it. It is driven by MySql and Ruby On Rails and uses some AJAX features.
ProjektsMCR.comThis website has it's own password protected bespoke administration area where the staff can add news, events and change the text on any page. It also pulls in photo's from Flickr.com and RSS feeds from other websites. It is driven by a MySql databse and was programmed from scratch using PHP.
